For all the people who are following my blog from "oversees" and further away: from now on you will be able to read my written thoughts sa well as only look at the pictures. So please enjoy my blog as much as I'm having with writing it (and creating of course). Please excuse me for my English, I'm not a native speaker. So here we go:
Hip and trendy. That's the common title we knitters use to catalogue our creations. And for the creative people among us who have been knitting and crocheting for quite a while, this is new. For it is not so long ago that people reacted with raised eyebrows when you said you had knit the scarf yourself. This gradually changed in admiring glances. And now everyone just brings their own knitting to discuss how this or that ...
Zomaar even 50 jaar oud is dit monument.
This time I've found my inspiration in a knitting book of 1962: The Joy of Knitting (the dutch word is very old fashion). 50 years old is this monument. But the content can be used for hip and trendy knitting. Because I choose the wicker basket stitch (phew!) as stitch for a nice shawl collar. Very soft and warm for the coming winter and large enough to use as a cap.
